You are right! The same things happen also in China: no revalutation of the past in this sense. It is such a pity that much of the past is being destroyed in the name of "progress".Luckily here in Italy we tend to restorate our historical buildings/houses, even if they are small. I live in the historical centre of a small town on Lake Maggiore, where all houses (the earliest date back to the 14th century) have found their original shapes and colours.
Hi - just found your blog while browsing for pics of Yamagata... A view across the fields to Yamagata looked familiar - from Hitoshi Konno's house?! Are you Mrs Hitoshi???
