oh i LOVE okra!
Wow, I never even noticed that about okra since it always seems to be cooked whole here. Very cute.
In the southern U.S. okra sliced like this is coated in seasoned flour and fried. It also appears in gumbo, a New Orleans staple. I wonder if okra is also native to Asia, or if it found its way there from Africa where we learned it is from.
